Anyone who knows me understands how much I love fashion and comic books. Typically these two things don’t go together. When most people think of comic book fans, they think of someone who looks like the Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons (his name is Jeff Albertson, BTW).
Five Four Club is on a mission to prove that it’s possible to be a comic book fan and still have a sense of style by teaming up with Marvel to design a limited edition collection for men.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Five Four Club, let me take a moment to introduce you. In 2012, creative director Andres Izquieta started the monthly subscription service to solve the problems most men face when it comes to looking good: they don’t have the time to shop, don’t care to shop, or don’t know what to buy. The brand offers a wide variety of stylish, casual, urban apparel designed in Los Angeles. To join the club, you have to create an account and fill out the style survey. Each month, you will receive a selection of clothing that costs just $60 but is worth substantially more. Shipping is included and exchanges are free.
Five Four Club’s partnership with Marvel not only increases the brand’s offerings, but it also allows their customers to channel their inner superhero in a stylish fashion. While many designers have licensing deals with comic book publishers, Five Four Club took a different approach to their collection. Instead of simply slapping superhero logos on various articles of clothing, Five Four Club decided to be more discrete and design their pieces by taking specific elements from the Marvel Universe and subtly incorporating them into classic menswear styles to create a collection that is appealing and unique.
The collection includes suits, shirts, jackets and is designed for everyday wearablity. All Five Four Club Members can officially shop this Marvel inspired collection online starting April 1st, 2015. The collection will also be available for a limited time at the Five Four MARVEL NYC Pop-Up shop (168 Bowery St., New York, NY).
If you’re ready to supercharge your wardrobe, sign up with Five Four Club and check out the Marvel Collection.
